Chanel Pre Fall 2013 Paris - Edinburgh - The Bags

The Chanel Pre Fall collection or Métiers d'Art as it's officially known is the intermediate collection between the main seasons which takes place in a different destination every year, the collection is based upon it's location and features heavy theming through out. For 2013 the destination of choice was Scotland or more precisely Edinburgh and so the Métiers d'Art Paris-Edimbourg 2013 was born, of course the collection was awash with knits and tartan's and the bags that have been produced for the collection have manged to capture the rugged splendour of the Highlands.

Once again the Boy is a popular choice with around fifty percent of this collection coming on that particular style of bag. Models include a Heather hued Purple/Green tweed bordered with a soft Green velvet border, the same velvet is used on another bag in a creamy beige shade with aged hardware.

My personal favourite of the Boy's is a lambskin flap with a large Knit pattern embroidered into the skin the remaining variations include a lambskin and chain mail combination, an aged calfskin variation and finally the Pony skin Boy with the black lambskin border but if the Boy is not your style there are other options.

The Chanel Flap is produced in a deep Forest Green calf skin with woven leather laces or a multi-hued Mohair, there is also a Messenger bag produced in a Deer coloured brown Suede or a rugged Vintage looking version in calfskin.

The pinnacle of the collection has to lie with the final two bags; the first a Minaudiere in a traditional red and green Tartan inside a metal cage decorated with Desrues "jewels". Desrues are the house that produces the fabulous jewelry you find at Chanel and many other designer brands.

Lastly we have the Satchel bag in the shape of a traditional Scottish Sporran, the Sporran is used by Scottish men as a pocket when wearing a kilt since they'd have nowhere to keep their belongings, the Chanel satchel includes a lot of the traditional details such as the three large tassel's and is crafted from calf and pony skin.
